Tamborileros

Tamborileros

The tamboleros crowd into the throne room to play the Oru or cycle of songs for the Orishas. As in Havana and the US, the oru seco (“dry” cycle, meaning without singing) includes drum toques or rhythms for each of the Orishas in order, male Orishas first followed by female, culminating in the toque for Orula and then for the Orisha(s) the tambor is honoring.
