Throne for Ochun

Throne for Ochun

Throne for Ochun, Ocha house of Alberto and Tina Calvo, Matanzas, Cuba, August, 2003. This throne was made on the occasion of a violin for Ochun. The throne was built around an open bookshelf that divided the living room and dining room, so that the violin could be held in the largest possible area. Both Ochuns of the house were included, surrounded by two Orulas and all the trinkets and treasures from their regular thrones. The plaza included 5 vases of sunflowers, 5 beers, Ochun’s 5 hens cooked asada, 5 different honeys, 5 candles, a cake, and all Ochun’s favorite dulces.
